Fish Tank Filters
It is very important to maintain the quality of water in a fish tank. Though changing 15-20% of the water regularly is recommended, introducing new water often disrupts the chemical stability of the tank. Using aquarium filters is the easiest and most sensible way to go about keeping the water clean without much effort.

The main purposes of a water filter in an aquarium are to clean the small particles present in the tank, to remove the ammonia and nitrates that are mixed with the water and also to aerate the water. Most filters are divided into three sections: Biological, Mechanical and Chemical. The biological part of the filter converts the ammonia in the water into nitrates and further breaks down the nitrates into less harmful nitrates. The mechanical part of the filter removes the various suspended debris in the aquarium while the chemical part of the filter aerates the water for the fish.
Fish tank filters usually come in various forms and sizes. They can be selected depending on the size and the shape of the aquarium. The most common ones are under-gravel tray filters, hang-on-back filters, canister filters, sponge filters, internal power-head filters and external sump filters.
A filter can also be selected on basis of its flexibility, maintenance and the cost. There are certain filters that can even regulate and control the temperature of the water inside the aquarium.
At Home Fish Aquariums, there are plenty of fish tank filters to choose from. You can go through the catalogues and the user manual and select the one as per your requirement and liking.
